The story of ARPELLE began in 1980 from an idea of Aniello Ruggiero, an expert chemical tanning expert, who decided to open the first boutique in Campania in terms of display space and variety of handcrafted products made.
Aniello pioneered the experimentation and tanning of innovative leathers for the time and began making garments of the highest quality.
The turning point comes very shortly afterwards, when Luca Ruggiero, son of the art, joins the company.
Luca, being a passionate patternmaker, began to create signature garments and patterns, managing to satisfy even the most discerning palates.
At the end of the 1990s Luca began handcrafting as a subcontractor, working for well-known fashion houses, interacting with Creative Directors and established Stylists (Italian and otherwise).
To date Luca, has made more than 4,000 different designs including leather outerwear and furs.
His passion led him to follow in his father’s pioneering vein, making cutting-edge garments, including full-touch genuine leather gloves and many other machine-washable leather products.
